Well, so much for my vow to keep this thing updated frequently! But it's not entirely my fault...I don't have internet in my apartment, so updating this is a little hard! Anyhow, here I am with another blog update (: Lots has happened since my last blog, so I will try to recap quickly.
First, we have moved into our new apartment! We moved in Oct. 1...I know, this is almost 2 months late! But we are almost completely settled in, and we absolutely love our new place. And the best part is, I live right next door to my best friend! haha.
Also, I have signed up for school! woohoo! I'll be starting at Weber this January. Although I am so not looking forward to tests and homework, it will be nice to get my education going again! The sooner I start, the sooner I can finish (:
Nothing else really big has happened...just the day to day stuff, like working, and working and....oh yeah working! But now it is November 25 (Happy Thanksgiving!) I cannot believe how fast this year has gone by. Like, hello, in a little over a week James and I will celebrate our 1 YEAR anniversary!! Soo crazy! But anyways, so today is Thanksgiving and yesterday I spent all morning baking pumpkin pies and our house smelled sooo yummy! This will be my first Thanksgiving away from my family but I'm glad to have James' family here to celebrate with. And at least I am going back to NC for christmas in..... 25 days! I am so excited, and I know James is too. This is the longest stretch I have gone without seeing my family (about 7 months) so I am really looking forward to spending time with everyone. (:

Thankful on a Thursday
So I am totally stealing this idea from my sister, Miranda, but the idea comes from The Outdoor Wife. I really like the idea of writing down what I am thankful for each week, not only to show my gratitude, but also as a reminder to myself that I am so blessed and have a lot to be thankful for.
So today, I'm thankful for:
1. Days off. Now that I am working two jobs, I feel like I am never at home! But I completely love days like today, when I only have to work one of my jobs. Who doesn't like to just be lazy sometimes?
2. Employment. Not to be confused with #1, but as much as I love having time off of work, I am so grateful to have employment. And not only one, but two, awesome jobs that make paying bills just a little bit easier.
3. Date nights. With our crazy, hectic and busy shedules, it's hard for James and I to find time to spend together. But when we make it happen, it's so wonderful. And the best part is, we don't have to spend a bunch of money to have fun with each other.
4. My sight. Being a 504 to a little boy who is completely blind has made me even more grateful for the fact that I can see. And even though he doesn't neccessarily completely know what he's missing-he's been blind since birth and he is only 5-it still breaks my heart that he can't see his family, his friends, his toys, the beautiful world we live in, pretty colors, books, cars, animals...all the little things we can take for granted.
5. Family. I miss my family in NC so much, but it is at least nice to have James' family out here. They are a wonderful help and support to us as we have started our lives as a married couple.
6. Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. Do I need to say any more??
7. Fall. As much as I love summer, and believe me, I do, I also really enjoy fall. I love layering sweaters and scarves... and drinking hot chocolate (even though I do that in the summer). I also love the smells of autumn and the beautiful changes in color of the leaves as the weather gets cooler. It's also a perfect excuse to cuddle up with my hubby-not that I need an excuse!
8. Mascara. I don't want to sound too materialistic or vain here, but seriously, mascara is awesome. I don't know what I would do without it. It's the one makeup product I could NOT go without. It brightens the eyes and makes me look more awake than I actually feel. (:

9 months already?!
Can I just say this year has FLOWN by. Literally. I cannot even believe it is already September! And being September 5 today means that James and I have been married for 9 months. Let me tell you how crazy that is! I mean, in some ways, it seems like we were just married yesterday, and in other ways it seems as though we have been married forever. I guess that's because we are just so perfect for each other and it feels like we have known each other our whole lives.
Being married is so much fun. It's an adventure, it has it's ups and downs, but at least our marriage has consisted of almost all "ups". And maybe that's just because we are still considered newlyweds, and are still in the "honeymoon" stage. But either way, we are so happy to be married and sealed to each other for time and eternity. I just can't believe that in 3 short months we'll be celebrating our 1 year anniversary! So much as already happened in our short marriage, and I can't wait to see what the rest of our future brings. (:

Move. Part Uno
Wow I just realized that it has been over three weeks since my last post. Oops. So much for trying to update this frequently. Well our weekend has been a little crazy...why? Cause we moved! Out of our old apartment...and literally, it was old haha...and into James' parents house in Kaysville. But we will only be living here for about 3 weeks or so until our new apartment is done being built! We are sooo excited for the new apartment so we hope it will be done sooner rather than later. We spent all week packing and preparing for our move, and when saturday morning came, it only took about 2.5 hours to load all of our stuff into a trailer where it will be kept until we move again. And as I have figured out, you don't realize how much junk you have until you have to pack it all up! The nice thing is that at least we didn't have to load, unload and unpack all our stuff the same day. We get a nice break before we have to finish our move, so that is nice!
One more thing to add-I got another job! Woohoo! I am working as a 504, or in other words, a one-on-one aid to a little 5 year old boy who has several disabilities. I am so excited I think it will be a really great job. Today was my first day, and I have to say I think it went pretty well! I am excited to see where this goes and hopefully I can have an impact on this little one's life.

today is a good day (:
So, today is a good day, for two reasons. The first one being that it is James and my 8 month anniversary! To celebrate, we went to the Bountiful Temple and then went to lunch at Cafe Rio...soo yummy! It was so fun being in the temple that we got married in again. We have been there a couple times since our wedding day, but it's always fun when we go back.
The second reason is that we got into the brand new apartments that we have been hoping and hoping for! Yay! We will most likely be moving into them sometime in September. We are sooo excited to be moving...and we will finally have our own washer and dryer! Another yay! However, there is a slight possibility that we won't move into those particular apartments, becauseI am waiting to hear back from a prospective job in Clearfield, and if I get the job, we may move out that way instead of staying in SLC, where we are now. But we will see! Either way, it would be good. (:
We also finally know where we will be going to school this coming spring, at Weber State! It will be great since both of us are going into the medical field. So, all in all, it's been a good, productive day. And we all love those, right??

me...an author??
Okay. First off, I vow to be better at updating this blog, starting now! Second, I know that this really should be mostly about James and I both, but this one is going to be about me. (: So I was just sitting at home the other day and I decided that I want to write a book. I know, I know, it's a farfetched idea, but hey, I can dream, right?? I have loved writing ever since I can remember, so why not actually write a book? I am pretty excited with my new goal. It's a lot to accomplish, but I know I can do it if I set my mind to it. I just have one little problem...(which is actually a BIG problem)...what do I write a book about? This is the hardest part for me. Once I start, I can just write and write. But coming up with a topic for a book that is good enough to be published is hard! But, even so, in a couple years or so, be looking for a book by me, Mikaela Farnsworth! ;)
So who knows, maybe I'll have a best seller coming my way! Okay, so probably not. But even just getting a book published would be so totally awesome.

and here we are...
Okay, so I have finally broke down and got a blog...however I can promise that I will not be the best at keeping it updated. Nevertheless, here I am! I am not exactly sure what to write here, so I guess I'll start with the basics. James and I got married December 5, 2009 in the Bountiful Temple, after dating for about one...yes ONE month. We knew we were meant to be, so why waste time dating when we could be married?
We began dating in June and were engaged by the end of July. Now, we had a unique courtship- James was on one side of the country...in good old Utah...and I was on the other side, in North Carolina. So we only got to see each other about every six weeks or so, and our dates cost about $300 (plane tickets, thanks). But we made it through and here we are, happily married (: We are now living in Utah (the one place on this earth I swore I would NEVER live) and are really enjoying married life!
